Am I a good candidate for the surgery?
Your visit with Dr. Rohrich will determine if you are a good candidate. Perlane® restores the lost volume associated with facial lipoatrophy. Facial lipoatrophy is the loss of fat that supports the fullness, shape and contour of the face. Perlane®is used to fill nasolabial folds (smile lines), chin, cheek, jaw line and can also be used for nasal defects.
What should I expect from my consultation?
During the consultation, you will be asked how you feel about your appearance and anything else that you feel is important. You will learn about the treatment, its limitations and risks, and discuss your needs and concerns. Dr. Rohrich will explain which surgical techniques and/or fillers are most appropriate for you. After your consultation a photographer will take photographs for your medical record.
Dr. Rohrich will review your medical history and check for conditions that may cause problems during or after the procedure. You should provide any information about any medical conditions, drug allergies, medical treatments you have received, previous surgeries and medications that you currently take. It is important for you to provide complete information.
What is Radiesse ™ and how are the injections performed?
Perlane® is comprised of biotechnologically engeneered, non-immunogenic, stabilized hyaluronic acid gel particles.
The injections are performed in a clinical setting and usually takes 30 minutes to an hour.
How safe is Perlane®?
Perlane® is proven safe and effective through rigorous clinical trials and independent physician studies that consistently demonstrate longer lasting results with immediate enhancement.
What should I know about my results?
In facial applications, Perlane® should provide a correction that lasts around six months. Individual results may vary, affected by age, metabolism, skin type, lifestyle and muscle activity.
Approximately 24 hours following injection of Perlane® , most swelling or redness will have subsided. Some patients return to work immediately following injection, while others may need 24 hours.
